Who would have expected that OpenAI would deliver a shock after Christmas?
On Thursday, December 26th, Eastern Time, OpenAI confirmed that at 11:00 AM Eastern Time, its services began experiencing a large-scale outage. Wall Street News found that OpenAI's ChatGPT chat bot and the video AI model Sora were both inaccessible, and as of the time of publication, they had not fully recovered.
The status page released by OpenAI showed that at 11:00 AM, they announced the initiation of an investigation, stating that ChatGPT, Sora, and the API were experiencing high error rates. At 11:18 AM, they confirmed that the issue originated from an &#34;upstream supplier&#34; and were monitoring the situation.
Subsequently, OpenAI updated the status at 12:06 PM and 1:05 PM, stating that they were continuing to investigate the problem. At 2:05 PM, they announced that ChatGPT had partially recovered, but chat records were still not loading, and OpenAI was continuing to resolve the issues.

Coincidentally, at the same time as OpenAI's outage, Microsoft's exclusive cloud server supplier reported that one of its data centers was experiencing &#34;power issues,&#34; primarily affecting users in North America, and they were investigating the problem.
This was the second outage of ChatGPT, Sora, and OpenAI's API this month, following the outage on December 12th. OpenAI stated that the services began experiencing outages at 3:00 PM Eastern Time on December 12th, and most of them were back online by 9:00 PM that same day
