In response to the U.S. Department of Defense listing Tencent on the list of Chinese military companies (officially referred to as the &#34;Section 1260H List&#34; under U.S. law), Tencent stated in a declaration, &#34;It is clearly an error that Tencent has been included on this list; we are neither a military enterprise nor a military supplier. Unlike export controls or others, this list does not affect our business. Nevertheless, we will work with the relevant U.S. authorities to resolve the misunderstanding.&#34;
According to public reports, CATL, which was also included in the Section 1260H list, responded, &#34;This is an error; the company is not involved in any military-related activities.&#34;
It is understood that the U.S. Department of Defense's Section 1260H list has undergone multiple adjustments, with many companies being removed from the list a few months after being added. Companies such as Zhongwei Company, IDG Capital, China International Engineering Consulting Corporation, Fujian Torch Electron Technology Co., Ltd., and Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation Hong Kong (International) Limited have all been included in the Section 1260H list but were ultimately removed.
