Marvell launches groundbreaking CPO architecture for custom AI accelerators
On January 6th, local time, American chip giant Marvell announced that the company has made breakthroughs in custom AI accelerator architecture, integrating CPO technology to significantly enhance server performance. This new architecture allows AI server capabilities to expand from dozens of XPUs within a single rack to hundreds of XPUs spanning multiple racks. Marvell revealed that Marvell CPO utilizes multi-generation silicon photonics technology, which has been in use for over eight years, with more than 10 billion hours of operational time in the field
