The U.S. Department of Justice requests the court to allow the release of the special prosecutor's investigation report on Trump

Special Counsel Jack Smith has requested the federal appeals court to dismiss the request by elected President Donald Trump and his aides to block the public release of his final report. Smith informed the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit that he has submitted the final report to Attorney General Merrick Garland, and Garland plans to only release the portion of the report related to the criminal investigation into Trump's attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election
