The latest position of former Haitong Securities Chairman Zhou Jie has been revealed. Last weekend, the Shanghai International Group's official website showed that Zhou Jie has been appointed as the Party Secretary and Chairman of the Group. Previously, on January 14, Haitong Securities announced that the board of directors received a written resignation letter from Chairman Zhou Jie on January 13, 2025. The announcement stated that Zhou Jie resigned from his positions as director, chairman, legal representative, and authorized representative of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange due to work transfer reasons, and also resigned from his position as the chairman of the board's development strategy and ESG management committee. After his resignation, he will no longer hold any position in the company. After Zhou Jie's resignation, Li Jun, a director and general manager of Haitong Securities, will act as chairman, chairman of the board's development strategy and ESG management committee, and legal representative. At the same time, Haitong Securities appointed Li Jun as the authorized representative of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. According to a previous announcement, Guotai Junan is currently advancing the share swap merger with Haitong Securities. On January 17, Guotai Junan Securities announced that the China Securities Regulatory Commission had approved the registration and approval of the company's share swap merger with Haitong Securities and the related fundraising matters. According to the third-quarter reports of the two brokerages, Shanghai International Group is currently the third-largest shareholder of Guotai Junan, holding approximately 7.66% of the shares. At the same time, Shanghai International Group holds 100% of Shanghai State-owned Assets Management Co., Ltd., which also holds about 21.35% of Guotai Junan's equity.
