Following the allowance of their models for military purposes by leading American artificial intelligence companies such as OpenAI and Meta, Google has recently "sneakily" joined this camp. Local media discovered on Tuesday that Google has removed a commitment from its AI principles to avoid using AI technology for weapons and other potentially harmful applications. Google's Senior Vice President James Manyika and DeepMind head Demis Hassabis subsequently defended this move in a blog post. They argued that businesses and governments need to collaborate on AI that "supports national security."
