About two hours later, Politico reported that an email titled &#34;What did you do last week&#34; was sent to U.S. federal government employees, asking them to respond by midnight Monday with a brief list of five points outlining their work achievements from the previous week.
Analysts noted that this move is reminiscent of the strategy Musk used when taking over Twitter.
However, attorney Michael Fallings believes that Musk's actions are illegal:

The FBI director reminded employees not to respond, as FBI Director Kash Patel urged his staff not to reply to the emails sent to federal government employees by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.
It is worth noting that just hours before Musk's post, Trump also tweeted: &#34;(Musk) is doing great, but I want to see him be more aggressive.&#34;
Previously, the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) offered a &#34;buyout&#34; plan for federal employees: if they did not want to return to the office, they could receive about eight months' salary as compensation and resign. Ultimately, this plan attracted 77,000 resignations.
Last Friday, Trump also fired the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff CQ Brown and five other senior Pentagon officials, and the Department of Defense plans to cut 5,400 probationary employees starting next week.
In response, Everett Kelley, president of the American Federation of Government Employees, stated that his organization would &#34;challenge any illegal actions to fire federal employees&#34;:
