TrendForce: Revenue for original Enterprise SSD manufacturers in Q4 2024 is expected to be USD 7.34 billion, a slight decline of 0.5%

According to the latest survey by TrendForce, in the fourth quarter of 2024, the orders for Enterprise SSDs (enterprise solid-state drives) are expected to remain flat compared to the previous quarter due to the arrival of NVIDIA H series products and the sustained purchasing momentum of large CSPs in China. The contract prices are affected by the weak consumer product market, ultimately maintaining the same level as the third quarter. Accordingly, the revenue from original manufacturers of Enterprise SSDs in the fourth quarter of 2024 is projected to be USD 7.34 billion, a slight decline of 0.5%. Looking at the market conditions in the first quarter of 2025, although the 4TB and 8TB Enterprise SSDs continue to benefit from AI Training demand, the growth in procurement volume is still unable to counteract the seasonal downturn. Additionally, there is a clear oversupply in the market, and some suppliers are actively digesting their inventory of 16TB and 30TB products, which is expected to lead to a decline in contract prices for Enterprise SSDs in the first quarter ranging from 18% to 23%, with related revenues likely to drop nearly 30%. This situation is expected to gradually improve after the second half of 2025. Samsung Analyzing the revenue performance of various suppliers in the Enterprise SSD market, the market leader Samsung, despite exceeding order growth expectations, has experienced delays in some shipments due to insufficient capacity adjustments, resulting in a nearly 10% quarter-over-quarter revenue decline in the fourth quarter of 2024, amounting to USD 2.9 billion. SK Group SK Group (including SK hynix and Solidigm) benefited from continuous growth in shipments, with fourth-quarter Enterprise SSD revenue increasing by 11.8% quarter-over-quarter to USD 2.3 billion, securing the second position in market share. The synergies from the company's consolidation have begun to manifest, with Solidigm having mass-produced SK TLC solution PCIe 5.0 SSDs, aiding SK Group's aggressive push for Enterprise SSD market share. Micron Micron's fourth-quarter revenue remained at the same level as the previous quarter, and even though demand for 30TB products has slightly slowed, the company continues to expand its number of server collaboration clients, with revenue growing to USD 1.17 billion and a market share of 16.0%, ranking third. Kioxia Kioxia benefited from expanding cooperation with North American CSPs, seizing opportunities to actively increase Enterprise SSD shipments, with fourth-quarter revenue rising by 13.8% quarter-over-quarter to USD 724 million, securing the fourth position in market share.
