The Japanese yen fell more than 0.3%, briefly dropping below 149 yen after the release of U.S. CPI data
On Wednesday (March 12), at the New York close, the US dollar rose 0.36% against the Japanese yen, reporting 148.32 yen. After the release of the US CPI data at 20:30 Beijing time, it fell back to 148.20 yen, then regained upward momentum, refreshing the daily high to 149.19 yen at 20:59, continuing to oscillate upward throughout the day. The euro rose 0.08% against the Japanese yen, reporting 161.48 yen, and reached a daily high of 162.36 yen at 18:18; the British pound rose 0.45% against the Japanese yen, reporting 192.226 yen, and also refreshed the daily high to 193.109 yen at 20:58
