EVER HARVEST GP issued a profit warning, expecting a net loss attributable to shareholders of approximately HKD 9.3 million for the fiscal year 2024, a significant turnaround from a profit of HKD 500,000 in the same period of 2023. The board of directors pointed out that the loss was mainly due to an increase in tax expenses of HKD 6.8 million and tax penalties of HKD 4.9 million, as the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department conducted additional assessments on the tax status for the years 2014/15 to 2022/23
According to the Zhitong Finance APP, EVER HARVEST GP (01549) announced that the group expects to incur a net loss attributable to equity holders of approximately HKD 9.3 million for the year ending December 31, 2024, compared to a net profit attributable to equity holders of approximately HKD 500,000 for the same period in 2023.
The board believes that the expected change from profit to loss during the reporting period is mainly due to an increase in tax expenses of approximately HKD 6.8 million and tax penalties of approximately HKD 4.9 million, primarily due to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government's Inland Revenue Department conducting additional assessments on the group's tax status for the tax years 2014/15 to 2022/23
