Li Auto aims to become the "Android" of the automotive industry

Li Auto launched its self-developed automotive operating system "Li Auto Star Ring OS" at the 2025 Zhongguancun Forum, planning to open source it to the industry, aiming to become the "Android" of the automotive world. The development of this system originated from the global chip shortage in 2020, where Li Auto was at a disadvantage in the chip supply chain, resulting in revenue losses. Since 2021, Li Auto has invested a team of 200 people and spent over one billion, ultimately achieving the implementation of its self-developed operating system in vehicles. Star Ring OS supports multiple automotive chip architectures and can complete chip adaptation and verification within four weeks, significantly improving efficiency
