
Taiwan Semiconductor's Kaohsiung Fab 22 wafer factory will include 5 phases of buildings, with a total investment exceeding NT$ 1.5 trillion
Taiwan Semiconductor held a 2nm expansion ceremony and the topping-out ceremony for the second phase of Fab 22 at its Kaohsiung Fab 22 wafer factory yesterday. TSMC's Executive Vice President Qin Yongpei stated that the first phase of the Fab 22 wafer factory is currently undergoing equipment installation, while the third phase is in structural engineering construction, and the supporting office building is nearing completion. Additionally, there are the fourth and fifth phases of the wafer factory. The total investment scale of this industrial cluster will exceed NT$1.5 trillion. He also mentioned that TSMC's 2nm process will enter mass production as scheduled in the second half of this year, and the number of customer design confirmations for the first two years at this node will exceed that of the 3nm process during the same period
