Tesla's Spring OTA Update Brings New Features To Model 3, S, X, Y And Cybertruck: Here's What To Expect

Tesla, Inc. TSLA released its list of Spring software updates for all the models in its current line-up, including the Model 3, Model S, Model X, Model Y and the Cybertruck.What happened: In a post on the social media platform X, the company shared what we can expect from the latest OTA updates for its vehicles. The updates include a comprehensive list of features like the highly anticipated adaptive headlights functionality, finally making its way to the U.S. and Canada.https://t.co/pT39oJoSYV— Tesla (@Tesla) April 12, 2025Other features introduced in the update include a Blind Spot Camera on the driver screen in the new Model S and Model X, updates to the dashcam that lets users record footage from the side cameras on B-pillars in both Dashcam and Sentry mode; this also takes the total number of camera views to 6, according to Tesla.Elsewhere, the Comfort Drive function in the Cybertruck will automatically toggle once Autopilot is engaged. Users can also choose default trunk and frunk heights based on location, as well as a navigation setting which allows drivers to avoid highways, among other features.Why it matters: As stated above, the updates bring in a comprehensive list of features to Tesla vehicles, which have been a target of vandalism in the U.S. recently owing to Elon Musk's endorsement of right-wing political ideals.However, the updates will surely help Tesla bolster its position in the domestic EV sales, which the EV giant still leads by a healthy margin despite the recent problems.The company also unveiled an all-new, cheaper trim level for the Cybertruck, which will retail for around $62,490 with the federal EV credit. The new trim boasts a range of 362 miles on a single charge, but misses out on features and is only available in the RWD option.The EV sector has seen growth in the U.S. with increased adoption among drivers. Musk's cheaper Cybertruck could help increase Tesla's appeal and help solidify the company's sales proposition.
