Payment technology company Global Payments acquires Worldpay, with a total transaction value of nearly $24.3 billion
Payment technology and software solutions provider Global Payments announced on April 17 local time that it has reached a final agreement to sell its issuing solutions business to FIS for $13.5 billion and to acquire Worldpay from private equity firms GTCR and FIS for a net price of $22.7 billion. The total value of the transaction is $24.25 billion, which includes $1.55 billion in expected tax assets
