Data confirms: Foreign capital is aggressively selling U.S. stocks

According to Bank of America data, overseas investors withdrew approximately $6.5 billion from U.S. stock funds in the past week, marking the second-largest withdrawal on record, second only to the $7.5 billion in March 2023. Foreigners hold U.S. stocks valued at $18.5 trillion, accounting for 20% of the total market capitalization. Additionally, foreign holdings of U.S. Treasury bonds reach $7.2 trillion, making up 30% of the total. Analysts believe this may signal the beginning of a structural reallocation, as foreign institutions adjust their portfolios in response to geopolitical tensions and uncertainties in U.S. policies
