Leapmotor shares 1st official images of B01 sedan as debut days away

Leapmotor shared the first official images of the B01, an electric sedan that will make its debut at the 2025 Shanghai auto show, which begins on April 23. Image credit: Leapmotor) Leapmotor (HKG: 9863) shared the first official images of the B01 on Weibo today, with the electric sedan days away from making its debut at the 2025 Shanghai auto show. The B01 is built for a younger demographic and will be unveiled on April 23, the first day of the Shanghai auto show, Leapmotor said. The 21st Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition (Auto Shanghai 2025) will be held from April 23 to May 2, with April 23-24 being press days. Leapmotor's booth is at 6B11 in Hall 6.2H, and it will hold a short media briefing on April 23 from 10:00-10:20 am Beijing time. The B01 will be the second model in Leapmotor's B-series, the first of which, the B10 SUV (sport utility vehicle), went on sale on April 10. The B01 measures 4,770 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width and 1,490 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,735 mm, according to a regulatory filing on April 16. The battery electric vehicle (BEV) model is powered by a single motor and offers two motor options with peak power of 132 kW and 160 kW, respectively. Leapmotor's main selling models are the C-Series, which include the C01 sedan, as well as the C10, C11, and C16 SUVs. The C01 is a mid to large-size sedan that currently starts at RMB 139,800 ($19,140). It measures 5,050 mm in length, 1,902 mm in width, and 1,515 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,930 mm. The B-Series seems to aim at a market with lower prices than the C-series, as well as higher sales. In a media interview on March 10, Leapmotor management said it was confident it would see monthly sales of more than 40,000 units of the B-series. Leapmotor delivered 37,095 vehicles in March, up 154.65 percent from 14,567 in the same month last year, and up 46.70 percent from 25,287 in February, according to data it released earlier this month. Leapmotor is targeting sales of 500,000 to 600,000 units in 2025, its founder, chairman and CEO, Zhu Jiangming, said on March 11. The company delivered 293,724 vehicles in 2024, up 103.76 percent from 2023.
