
Monetary policy further easing drives a dual bull market in stocks and bonds

On May 7, 2025, the central bank governor Pan Gongsheng announced a series of monetary policy measures at a press conference, including a 50 basis point reserve requirement ratio cut, a 10 basis point interest rate cut, and a reduction in structural monetary policy rates, aimed at promoting broad credit, lowering financing costs, and supporting the development of the capital market. It is expected that the loose tone will be maintained throughout the year, with a possible further reserve requirement ratio cut of 50 basis points and a 20 basis point interest rate cut to address external uncertainties and promote domestic demand and economic growth
