On May 6th, Waymo, a subsidiary of Alphabet, announced a partnership with Canadian automotive parts supplier Magna to establish a new factory in Mesa, Arizona, with production expected to start as early as this year. The factory, which involves an investment of millions of dollars, has already created hundreds of jobs and will produce Jaguar I-PACE and ZEEKR models equipped with Waymo technology. Waymo plans to produce over 2,000 Jaguar I-PACE vehicles next year, with the first new model to apply Waymo technology being the ZEEKR RT. Magna has extensive experience, and the two companies have previously collaborated in Detroit. Currently, the scale of Waymo One services continues to expand, with plans to extend to three new cities by 2026
