
Brazilian President criticizes the U.S. for launching a tariff war: undermining free trade and multilateralism
On May 9th local time, Brazilian President Lula, during his visit to Russia and meeting with Russian President Putin, stated that the recent unilateral trade war launched by the Trump administration against the world goes against the principles of promoting free trade and strengthening international multilateralism, and disrespects the sovereignty of other countries. Lula expressed that the purpose of his visit to Russia is to reaffirm Brazil's commitment to multilateralism, and Brazil will sign a cooperation agreement with Russia in the field of technology, as well as expand the economic and trade relations between the two countries
