NVIDIA launches the Lepton platform to assist cloud computing companies in selling GPU computing power
NVIDIA (NVDA.US) announced the launch of the Lepton software platform, allowing cloud computing companies to sell GPU computing power on the platform. CoreWeave (CRWV.US) and Japan's SoftBank have already joined the platform, but Microsoft (MSFT.US), Amazon (AMZN.US) cloud services, and Alphabet (GOOGL.US) Google have not yet joined.
Alexis Bjorlin, Vice President of NVIDIA Cloud, stated that despite the surge in demand for chips from startups and large enterprises, the process of finding available chips has been "very manual." He also mentioned that Lepton will ultimately allow developers to search for NVIDIA chips located in specific countries based on data storage needs, and companies that already have some NVIDIA chips will also be able to more easily search for additional rental chips
