Synopsys stated that there is uncertainty in the sales of chip design software in the Chinese market

On May 29th local time, Synopsys announced that it had received a letter from the U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security, informing Synopsys of new export restrictions related to China. The company also stated that due to the new export restrictions imposed by the U.S. on China, it would suspend the release of annual and quarterly forecasts, citing uncertainty in the sales of chip design software in the Chinese market. "Synopsys is currently assessing the potential impact of the BIS letter on its business, operational performance, and financial condition," the company stated in a press release
