On Monday (June 2), the South African FTSE/JSE Africa Top 40 Index closed up 1.09% at 87,497.78 points, setting a new closing historical high after one trading day. Component stock Gold Fields Limited (GFI.SJ) rose 10.83%, Anglo American plc (ANG) increased by 9.48%, Harmony Gold Mining (HAR) was third with a rise of 7.35%, Anglo American plc (AGL) was sixth with a rise of 2.07%, South Africa's Woolworths Holdings Limited fell 1.95% ranking third from the bottom, Pepkor Holdings fell 2.19%, and Bidvest Group Limited (BVT) fell 2.20%
