According to the Zhitong Finance APP, Deutsche Telekom and NVIDIA (NVDA.US) announced on Friday that they will collaborate to create an industrial artificial intelligence cloud service for European manufacturers in Germany, marking the first project of its kind. They stated that the implementation of this industrial AI cloud is expected to be completed as early as 2026. The statement mentioned that NVIDIA will provide 10,000 chips for the site, while Deutsche Telekom will be responsible for providing infrastructure and handling responsibilities such as data centers, operations, sales, security, and AI solutions.
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang announced the location for this plan in Germany earlier this week and met with German Chancellor Merz on Friday.
After meeting with Huang, Merz stated, &#34;Investment in strategic AI infrastructure is at the core of our country's innovative strength. We particularly welcome NVIDIA and its partners' commitment. This cooperation could play an important role in promoting Germany's digital sovereignty and economic future.&#34;
The announcement of NVIDIA's collaboration with Deutsche Telekom comes against the backdrop of the accelerating development of the European AI industry. During the VivaTech technology summit in Paris, Huang predicted that AI computing power in Europe would grow tenfold in the next two years. Currently, Europe is planning to establish over 20 &#34;AI super factories.&#34; The European Union has announced a special fund of €20 billion to build five AI super factories equipped with over 100,000 processors, focusing on the research and training of next-generation AI models.
While in Paris, NVIDIA announced several European AI infrastructure cooperation plans, including the co-construction of an &#34;AI cloud platform&#34; with French AI startup Mistral. This service, named Mistral Compute, will be equipped with 18,000 of NVIDIA's latest Grace Blackwell chips, with the first site located at a data center in the Essonne department of France, and will expand to other regions in Europe in the future.
To expand the market for AI accelerators, NVIDIA is promoting the construction of national-level AI infrastructure in various countries. Huang emphasized to reporters, &#34;Every country should establish its own AI system; data is the cornerstone of AI—the key is not to export data but to acquire equipment for independent development.&#34; Currently, UK companies like Nebius (NBIS.US) and Nscale have deployed thousands of NVIDIA chips, and countries like Italy and Armenia are also accelerating hardware upgrades. NVIDIA's European ecosystem has attracted 1.5 million developers, 9,600 companies, and 7,000 startups to participate in its &#34;Startup Acceleration Program.&#34;
Additionally, to enhance its AI layout in Europe, NVIDIA stated that it is working to connect European developers with its global computing ecosystem. The company announced the launch of an expanded version of Nvidia DGX Cloud Lepton—an AI platform that integrates global computing market functionalities, capable of connecting AI applications developed by developers for institutional and physical applications
