Ferrari crosses over into the sailing field, launching a non-internal combustion engine racing boat

Ferrari has launched a prototype racing yacht that will be launched next year, marking the supercar manufacturer's official entry into the sailing sector. Ferrari announced on Wednesday that this 100-foot single-masted sailboat will serve as a technology research platform, with results potentially applicable to future road car and racing projects. All systems on board will be powered entirely by renewable energy generated from the sails, without the use of any internal combustion engines. Ferrari, perhaps the most well-known supercar manufacturer in the world, is actively venturing into new fields to prepare for the electric era of the automotive industry. The company is set to unveil its first all-electric supercar later this year. The yacht, designed by naval architect Guillaume Verdier, will be put into service next year and tested at sea. The project is named "Hypersail" and will be led by veteran captain Giovanni Soldini
