
Microsoft opens its first AI lab focused on manufacturing in Wisconsin

Microsoft has opened its first joint innovation lab focused on manufacturing innovation on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. This newly established lab is the result of collaboration between Microsoft, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, the University of Wisconsin, and TitletownTech. This initiative was launched a year after Microsoft announced a $3.3 billion investment in infrastructure development in southeastern Wisconsin. The lab has been operating at a temporary location on campus for the past year and has already collaborated with several companies in Wisconsin to develop AI solutions for real manufacturing challenges. The lab aims to serve organizations of all sizes, including startups, enterprises, and academic institutions, across various industries, but its core mission is to drive innovation in manufacturing
