State-owned banks welcome changes in cross-bank senior management!
According to media reports, on June 26, the Bank of China held an internal meeting and announced that Yang Jun has been appointed as a member of the Party Committee of the bank. According to convention, after necessary procedures, he will also serve as the vice president of the Bank of China.
Before joining the Party Committee of the Bank of China, Yang Jun had worked for a long time at China Construction Bank, where he was cultivated as a veteran.
Recently, cross-bank appointments have also become a common news item. In January of this year, the Bank of China appointed Wu Jian, who previously worked at China Everbright Bank, as vice president.
<h2>Veteran from Construction Bank, Cross-Bank Appointment</h2>
Before joining the Party Committee of the Bank of China, Yang Jun served as the general manager of the Asset Management Department of China Construction Bank Group.
Since July 1996, when Yang Jun entered the headquarters of China Construction Bank, nearly 30 years have passed. During his time at China Construction Bank, he worked in multiple departments and branches, gaining experience in risk management and regional governance.
It can be said that Yang Jun is a management talent who was fully cultivated and gradually grew within China Construction Bank. This time, China Construction Bank has once again made a contribution to another institution.
Yang Jun has held positions in the Credit Management Department, Corporate Business Department, Human Resources Department (Party Organization Department), Risk Management Department, and Hubei Branch of China Construction Bank.
He has served as the deputy general manager of the Risk Management Department, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and vice president of the Hubei Branch, and general manager of the Risk Management Department of China Construction Bank.
In September 2020, Yang Jun was appointed as the secretary of the Party Committee of the Shandong Branch and became the president of the Shandong Branch in December of the same year. In the first half of last year, he was promoted to general manager of the Group Asset Management Department until his recent transfer to the Bank of China.
<h2>Scholar-type Talent</h2>
Interestingly, Yang Jun also holds the identity of a scholar-type talent.
He obtained his doctorate from the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University and has published several related works, including &#34;Customer Evaluation of Commercial Banks,&#34; &#34;Bank Credit Risk Management: Theory, Models, and Empirical Analysis,&#34; and &#34;Operations Management in the Service Industry.&#34;
In addition, Yang Jun has published dozens of papers, including &#34;Reflections on the Reform and Transformation of State-owned Large Banks&#34; and &#34;Debt Leverage Measurement and Control Strategies.&#34; This shows that, in addition to practical banking work, Yang Jun also has a solid academic research foundation.
According to media reports, his recent focus includes topics such as the scale of commercial banks, pension finance, and AI technology, which are also hot topics in the current transformation of the banking industry.
<h2>Senior Management Team Not Yet Complete</h2>
Since the beginning of this year, there have been frequent changes in the senior management of the Bank of China, with three vice presidents leaving office within the year. Currently, there are still vacancies in the senior management team of the Bank of China.
In mid-June, the Bank of China announced that vice president Zhang Xiaodong had resigned. Zhang Xiaodong took office as deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Agricultural Development Bank at the end of May.
Previously, former vice president Lin Jingzhen also resigned due to age reasons, and Liu Jin resigned from the vice president position due to serving as deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Bank of China.
After Yang Jun's cross-bank appointment, he will become the third currently serving vice president of the Bank of China.
For the Bank of China, cross-bank appointments are not a new phenomenon. In January of this year, the Bank of China appointed Wu Jian from the Everbright system as vice president.
Before his appointment, Wu Jian served as the secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of China Everbright Bank. Earlier, he also held positions as the general manager of the Human Resources Department of China Everbright Group and the general manager of the Risk Management and Internal Control Compliance Department/Legal Department
Wu Jian's work experience and areas of expertise have many similarities with Yang Jun.
