Citigroup: High-net-worth clients with a growing aversion to the United States are turning their attention to the United Kingdom
A senior executive at Citigroup revealed that despite the UK's increased taxation on the wealthy, it still attracts the attention of affluent clients disappointed with the bank's performance in the United States. "It's a two-way flow for clients both in and out of the UK," said Andy Sieg, Citigroup's global wealth head, in an interview with Bloomberg Television in London. While some people are leaving the UK, others are "looking at the United States and the changes happening there, thinking that the UK might be a place where my children might want to go to university and where they would be willing to spend more time."
