
Amazon Prime Day sales in the first 24 hours increased by 10% year-on-year to $7.9 billion
According to Adobe Analytics data, Amazon (AMZN.US) Prime Day promotions saw online sales in the U.S. increase by 9.9% year-on-year to $7.9 billion in the first 24 hours.
Adobe Analytics stated that this is the largest single-day e-commerce sales figure so far this year, surpassing last year's total online sales of $6.1 billion during the Thanksgiving period.
The Amazon Prime Day promotion started on Tuesday and will last until Friday. Walmart (WMT.US) also began its six-day promotion on Tuesday, while Target (TGT.US) Circle Week started on Sunday, and Best Buy (BBY.US) launched its July Black Friday promotion starting on Monday
