Jensen Huang praises DeepSeek and expresses confidence in China's innovation capabilities

Jensen Huang, the founder and CEO of NVIDIA, stated in an interview with the China Central Television program "Face to Face" that AI is an extremely complex system, and China's innovation capability is remarkable.

Jensen Huang: The pace of China's innovation is unstoppable, and of course, I believe NVIDIA can make significant contributions. AI is an extremely complex system, as complex as a multi-layer cake. Our chips are just the foundation; above them are systems, network technologies, AI infrastructure, software, AI algorithms, and at the very top, application services. The entire system is exceptionally complex. On one hand, the development of AI requires innovation at every layer of this system, but if progress at any layer is not fast enough, engineers are smart enough to compensate through innovations at the upper and lower layers, thereby pushing the entire system forward.

This is precisely why you have to admire the incredible innovation capability of DeepSeek. The R1 model they developed is a true innovation; it redesigns many operational methods of AI models, allowing them to fully leverage the advantages of the H20 architecture. This approach is very creative. So even though it is built on H20, they still achieved world-class results, which also shows that researchers and developers can fully adjust according to the characteristics of different technological layers.

I am very optimistic and confident about China's innovation capability; they can adapt regardless of the resources at hand. Although H20 is not NVIDIA's top product, its capabilities are still outstanding. It is this architecture that defines, and you could even say creates, the current AI revolution, so even today, it remains quite impressive
