Google has reached a carbon-free energy supply cooperation with the Italian energy storage company Energy Dome

Italian energy storage company Energy Dome has reached a commercial cooperation agreement with Google to provide carbon-free energy. Google has made a strategic investment in Energy Dome, with financial details of the agreement undisclosed. This is Google's first commercial-grade long-duration energy storage project, aimed at achieving the goal of using carbon-free energy around the clock globally by 2030. The carbon dioxide battery technology developed by Energy Dome supports the energy transition and avoids the use of scarce raw materials. Energy Dome launched its first commercial-scale project in Sardinia in 2022, with plans to complete it by the end of 2024
