Indian Ministry of External Affairs: Punishing India for purchasing Russian oil is unreasonable
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement saying, "The actions against India are unjust and unreasonable, and India will take all necessary measures to safeguard national interests and economic security."
The statement noted that India's oil imports aim to ensure that Indian consumers can afford energy products, "which is a necessary step given the global market situation."
The statement mentioned that since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war, the United States and the European Union have been pressuring India for importing oil from Russia, while the US and Europe themselves continue to import Russian products.
The Indian ETF listed in the US maintains a decline of over 0.4%
