According to the Financial Times, NVIDIA and AMD have agreed to pay 15% of their chip sales revenue in China to the U.S. government in exchange for semiconductor export licenses.
According to informed sources, including a U.S. official, the two chip manufacturers agreed to this financial arrangement as a condition for obtaining the export licenses for the Chinese market granted last week. The U.S. official stated that NVIDIA agreed to share 15% of its sales revenue from the H20 chips sold in China, and AMD will also share the same proportion of its sales revenue from the MI308 chips.
