DHL Express and Cathay Pacific (00293.HK) have reached a new sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) cooperation agreement, further strengthening their joint commitment to reducing carbon emissions in the air freight industry.

According to the agreement, Cathay Pacific will supply 2,400 tons of SAF to DHL Express for cargo flights departing from three Asian airports: Incheon International Airport in Seoul, Narita International Airport in Tokyo, and Changi Airport in Singapore. These flights are operated by Hong Kong Air Cargo, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Cathay Pacific Group, primarily providing express delivery services for DHL Express.

Cathay Pacific stated that this cooperation is expected to reduce approximately 7,190 tons of greenhouse gas emissions over its entire lifecycle by 2025, equivalent to the total emissions generated by over 100 Airbus A330 freighters flying from Hong Kong to Singapore
