The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers stated that according to relevant regulations and standards, and based on the principle of voluntary inspection by enterprises, starting from April 2025, an organization will conduct inspections on the data security compliance of automotive products from manufacturers. Among them, 49 models from 13 companies, including FAW Toyota, FAW Group, Volkswagen, Zhejiang Geely, Beijing Li Auto, Chongqing Changan, Xiaomi Auto, Seres, Zhaoqing XPeng, Chery Automobile, SAIC Group, Great Wall Motors, and FAW Bestune, meet the five compliance requirements for automotive data security. The inspection also found that some other models had data security issues, mainly manifested as: the anonymization detection rate of facial targets in video images processed on the vehicle side was below 90%; the consent period for processing sensitive personal information was set to always allow or permanent; when continuously collecting sensitive personal information, there was no indication of the collection status through the vehicle display panel icon or signal device light flashing or staying on; applications on the in-vehicle system lacked privacy policies, etc. Feedback has been provided to the relevant companies for rectification
