"Commodity" U.S. EIA crude oil inventories fell by 6.01 million barrels last week, a decline greater than expected
According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) petroleum status report, the United States saw a decrease of 6.014 million barrels in crude oil inventories for the week ending August 15, far exceeding the market expectation of a 1.3 million barrel decline.
At the same time, inventories at the Cushing oil hub in Oklahoma increased by 41,900 barrels. In refined fuels, gasoline inventories decreased by 2.72 million barrels, while distillate inventories increased by 2.434 million barrels
