Trump threatens to impose export restrictions and tariffs in response to digital taxes

Trump stated on social media: As President of the United States, I will fight against those countries that attack our great American technology companies. Digital taxes, digital services legislation, and digital market regulations are all designed to harm or discriminate against the American tech industry. This situation must end, and it must end now! Based on this fact, I warn all countries that impose digital taxes on American tech companies or enact related legislation, rules, or regulations that unless these discriminatory measures are canceled, as President of the United States, I will impose high tariffs on that country's exports to the U.S. and implement export restrictions on our high-tech products and chips. The U.S. and American tech companies are no longer the world's "ATM" or "stepping stone." Either respect America and our outstanding tech companies, or face the consequences!
