The reduction in loss was mainly due to a decrease in valuation losses from securities trading during the period, a reversal of expected credit losses, and foreign exchange gains turning positive, offsetting the decline in total revenue

The announcement stated that the reduction in loss was mainly due to a decrease of approximately HKD 600,000 in net realized and unrealized valuation losses from securities trading during the period, a reversal of expected credit losses of approximately HKD 2.5 million during the period, and a change from a net realized and unrealized foreign exchange loss of approximately HKD 1.9 million in the same period last year to a net realized and unrealized foreign exchange gain of approximately HKD 2.7 million during the period, offset by a total revenue decrease of approximately HKD 6.4 million
