The announcement stated that the increase in revenue and profit was mainly due to the recognition of foreign exchange gains of HKD 8.136 million during the first half of 2025 as a result of the appreciation of the Canadian dollar and New Zealand dollar against the Hong Kong dollar (June 30, 2024: foreign exchange loss of HKD 3.753 million); the income tax expense related to oil exploration and production activities increased to HKD 1.495 million (June 30, 2024: HKD 0.412 million); and the recognition of professional fees of HKD 0.321 million related to the company's capital restructuring and participation in oil exploration and production business operational agreements (June 30, 2024: none)
