The inauguration ceremony of the China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization Energy Cooperation Platform was held in Beijing

According to the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration, on September 2, the China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization Energy Cooperation Platform was inaugurated in Beijing. The main responsible person from the National Energy Administration stated that energy cooperation is an important part of regional practical cooperation. Since China took over the rotating presidency of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in July last year, Chinese enterprises have signed, commenced, and put into operation over 160 projects in the fields of electricity and renewable energy in the SCO member states, and over 60 projects in oil and gas and other fields, with a total amount of approximately 380 billion RMB, becoming a strong driving force for regional economic and social development. In the next step, the National Energy Administration will further play the role of the platform, deepen practical exchanges and cooperation in the energy sector with SCO member states, expand new space for clean energy cooperation, enhance regional energy governance capabilities, and create a safe, green, and shared development platform, promoting more fruitful results in China-SCO energy cooperation through practical actions
