Salesforce has cut 4,000 customer support positions to replace them with AI

According to foreign media reports, Salesforce (CRM.US) CEO Marc Benioff admitted that the company has reduced its workforce from 9,000 to about 5,000 employees, as the company requires fewer staff with the assistance of AI. The 4,000 employees laid off were primarily engaged in customer support services.

Previously, Salesforce established the Agentforce customer service robot team. The company stated in its latest announcement that due to the advantages and efficiency demonstrated by Agentforce, the number of support cases handled by the company has decreased, and therefore there is no longer a need to actively fill positions that provide support for engineers
