In Hong Kong stocks, the Hang Seng Index opened up 145 points or 0.6%, reporting 25,489 points; the National Index opened up 52 points or 0.6%, reporting 9,102 points; the Hang Seng Tech Index opened up 41 points or 0.7%, reporting 5,725 points.
In the tech sector, Alibaba (09988.HK) opened up 0.1% at HKD 134.3, Tencent (00700.HK), Baidu (09888.HK), and Kuaishou (01024.HK) opened up 1% to 1.1%, while SMIC (00981.HK), Meituan (03690.HK), Xiaomi (01810.HK), and NetEase (09999.HK) opened up 0.3% to 0.7%. JD.com (09618.HK) opened up 1.7%, while Bilibili (09626.HK) opened down 0.5%. New Oriental (09901.HK) and Tencent Music (01698.HK) opened up 3.4% and 2.7%.
UBTECH ROBOTICS (09880.HK) received a procurement contract for humanoid robot products and solutions worth 250 million RMB, with its stock price opening up 6.4%. Horizon Robotics (09660.HK) expressed confidence in achieving an annual shipment volume of around 4 million units, with its stock price opening up 1.2%. Shoucheng Holdings (00697.HK) plans to raise net proceeds of 597 million RMB through a 5.65% discounted placement, with its stock price opening down 0.4%.
Chongqing added over 130 million RMB in subsidies for "trade-in" of cars and electric bicycles, with BYD (01211.HK) and Li Auto (02015.HK) opening up 1.7% and 1.5%, while Nio (09866.HK) opened down 2.8%. XPeng (09868.HK) announced a limited-time return of a zero-interest down payment and zero commission financial policy, with its stock opening flat at HKD 78.95. Pharmaceutical stocks CSPC (01093.HK), China National Pharmaceutical Group (01177.HK), and WuXi AppTec (02359.HK) opened up 1.4% to 1.9%. SmarTone (00315.HK) reported a 1.9% increase in annual net profit, maintaining a final dividend of 17.5 cents, with its stock price opening up 0.4%. Yum China (09987.HK) plans to add USD 270 million in stock buybacks in 2025, with its stock price opening up 1.6%
