Microsoft warns: Damage to the Red Sea cable will affect Azure cloud services

Microsoft announced on Saturday that users of its Azure cloud platform may experience slower response times due to multiple underwater cable breaks in the Red Sea. The company stated in a system update that the outage affected data transmission passing through the Middle East, but services outside the region remain unaffected. Microsoft said, "We do expect that certain network traffic transmission delays previously passing through the Middle East will increase. Network traffic not passing through the Middle East is unaffected." The company also stated that it will continue to provide updates daily or sooner if the situation changes. Azure is the world's second-largest cloud service provider, after Amazon AWS. The company has reduced the impact by rerouting data transmission. Although this rerouting measure has avoided a complete network outage, some users may still encounter connection delays.
