On the afternoon of September 9th, Sina Technology exclusively learned that Alibaba will officially announce a major business adjustment on September 10th, involving the restart of Koubei and the coordinated development with Amap's group buying. According to informed sources, this business adjustment involves a significant layout in the local life service sector, including the restart of Koubei and the launch of self-operated group buying by Amap, aiming to rebuild the local life consumption decision-making system, benchmarking against industry giants like Dianping. It is reported that Koubei, as Alibaba's traditional business in the local life sector, is receiving much attention with this restart. This will be the third major restart of Koubei since its acquisition in 2008. Founded in 2004, Koubei was acquired by Alibaba in 2008 and has since gone through different business lines including Yahoo China, Taobao, Alipay, Ele.me, and Amap, experiencing multiple pauses and restarts. With this restart, Koubei will utilize its own products to build an independent evaluation system, combining merchant consumption orders and evaluation data from Ele.me, Amap, and Alipay, aiming to create a brand new consumption decision evaluation system directly competing with Dianping. Meanwhile, Amap will also play an important role in this business adjustment. It is revealed that Amap will launch self-operated group buying and is currently actively building relevant product capabilities
