Oracle soared 41%, propelling Ellison to the top of the global billionaire list for the first time
Oracle (ORCL.US) surged 41% on Wednesday, with the company's market value increasing by over $278 billion in a single day, propelling Chairman Larry Ellison to replace Tesla (TSLA.US) founder Elon Musk and become the world's richest person for the first time.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, with the amount of shares held by Ellison, his net worth soared by approximately $100 billion in one day, reaching $393 billion, surpassing Musk's $385 billion, marking the largest single-day increase recorded in the history of the index
