By the three major categories, in August, the value added of the mining industry increased by 5.1% year-on-year, the manufacturing industry increased by 5.7%, and the production and supply of electricity, heat, gas, and water increased by 2.4%. By economic type, in August, the value added of state-controlled enterprises increased by 4.7% year-on-year; joint-stock enterprises increased by 6.0%, foreign and Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan-invested enterprises increased by 2.3%; private enterprises increased by 4.6%. By industry, in August, among 41 major industries, 31 industries maintained year-on-year growth in value added. Among them, coal mining and washing industry increased by 5.1%, oil and natural gas extraction industry increased by 4.7%, agricultural and sideline food processing industry increased by 4.7%, wine, beverage, and refined tea manufacturing industry decreased by 2.4%, textile industry increased by 1.5%, chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing industry increased by 7.6%, non-metallic mineral products industry increased by 0.5%, ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry increased by 7.3%, non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry increased by 9.1%, general equipment manufacturing industry increased by 7.3%, special equipment manufacturing industry increased by 4.0%, automobile manufacturing industry increased by 8.4%, railway, ship, aerospace, and other transportation equipment manufacturing industry increased by 12.0%, electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry increased by 9.8%, and computer, communication, and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry increased by 9.9%, while the production and supply of electricity and heat increased by 2.5%. By product, in August, among 623 products of industrial enterprises above designated size, 319 products saw year-on-year growth in output. Among them, steel reached 12.277 million tons, an increase of 9.7%; cement reached 14.802 million tons, a decrease of 6.2%; ten kinds of non-ferrous metals reached 6.98 million tons, an increase of 3.8%; ethylene reached 3.14 million tons, an increase of 10.4%; automobiles reached 2.752 million units, an increase of 10.5%, of which new energy vehicles reached 1.333 million units, an increase of 22.7%; electricity generation reached 936.3 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 1.6%; crude oil processing volume reached 63.46 million tons, an increase of 7.6% In August, the product sales rate of industrial enterprises above designated size was 96.6%, a year-on-year decrease of 0.1 percentage points; the export delivery value of industrial enterprises above designated size reached 1,302.9 billion yuan, a nominal year-on-year decrease of 0.4%.
