Silver Lake Partners has completed the acquisition of a 51% stake in Altera, while Intel retains the remaining 49% stake

On September 15th, Altera announced that the investment firm Silver Lake Partners has completed the acquisition of a 51% stake in Altera, which was previously held by Intel. At the same time, Intel will retain a 49% stake in Altera. The completion of this transaction marks Altera as the largest independent provider of FPGA solutions globally. By providing the software tools, development kits, IP, and design service resources needed to build complete FPGA solutions, Altera will help customers and partners accelerate innovation
