The market anticipates that the Federal Reserve may significantly cut interest rates during its meeting this week. The Hang Seng Index opened 90 points higher this morning (16th), reporting 26,536. In the early session, it rose by 155 points, reaching a four-year high of 26,601. It is currently reported at 26,476, up 30 points or 0.1%, with a turnover of HKD 85.483 billion.

Several pharmaceutical-related stocks that were included in the Hong Kong Stock Connect last Monday (8th) have surged in recent days. Brain 动极光-B (06681.HK), which focuses on digital therapies for cognitive impairment in mainland China, opened 2.77% higher this morning, peaking at HKD 13. The current price is HKD 11.87, up 17.29%, with a trading volume of 81.9834 million shares, involving HKD 970 million. This stock was listed in early January this year at an IPO price of HKD 3.22.

The recently listed stock, BAYZED HEALTH (02609.HK), which focuses on oncology treatment in mainland China, opened 14.9% higher after a 50.6% surge yesterday, reaching a high of HKD 17.06 in the early session, a new listing high. It is currently reported at HKD 15.8, continuing to rise by 54.3%, with a trading volume of 91.9232 million shares, involving HKD 1.385 billion. This stock was listed on June 23 at an IPO price of HKD 4.22, and the current price is approximately 2.7 times higher than the IPO price.

Also listed on June 23, TRANSTHERA-B (02617.HK) opened 15% higher this morning and saw an early increase of 63.7%, reaching a new listing high of HKD 679.5. Compared to its IPO price of HKD 13.15 on June 23, it has surged nearly 50.7 times in less than three months. It is currently reported at HKD 611, up 47.23%, with a trading volume of 2.1311 million shares, involving HKD 1.208 billion.

The Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges previously announced that due to the periodic adjustment of constituent stocks in the Hang Seng Composite Large Cap Index, Mid Cap Index, and Small Cap Index, the list of eligible securities for the Hong Kong Stock Connect has been adjusted and has been effective since last Monday (8th).
