Recently, the sales of Apple smartphones in mainland China fell by 6% year-on-year, a larger decline compared to previous new product launches
Foreign media quoted data from Counterpoint Research, reporting that in the weeks leading up to the launch of the iPhone 17, Apple's (AAPL.US) mobile phone sales in mainland China fell by 6% compared to the same period last year, a larger decline than in previous new product launches.
Similarly, smartphone manufacturers such as Xiaomi (01810.HK), Vivo, and Honor also recorded a decline in sales during the first eight weeks of the third quarter. Despite the government's large-scale subsidies to encourage consumption, the overall mobile phone market in mainland China still shrank by 2% from July to August.
According to Counterpoint data, Apple's market share is 12%, ranking sixth in the market. Xiaomi, OPPO, and Huawei each accounted for 16% of sales in the summer, while Vivo, as a bottleneck, only had a market share of 19%.
Analysts expect the overall mobile phone market in China to decline slightly in the third quarter, with annual performance expected to remain flat. As consumers continue to base their purchasing decisions on practical factors such as battery life and cost-effectiveness, Apple's lack of launch for Apple Intelligence in mainland China has not been affected
