Multiple airports in Europe are working hard to repair check-in system failures
After a hacker attack caused the automated check-in system to crash, several major airports in Europe worked hard to restore normal operations on Sunday. Among them, Brussels Airport continued to experience issues and requested airlines to cancel half of the outbound flights on Monday. On Friday, hackers targeted Collins Aerospace, a check-in and boarding system supplier under RTX, leading to chaos at Europe's busiest airports—London Heathrow, Berlin Airport, and Brussels Airport. On Saturday, passengers faced long queues, flight cancellations, and delays. According to airport officials and related data, the disruptions at Berlin and Heathrow airports significantly eased on Sunday, but delays and flight cancellations continued. A spokesperson for Brussels Airport stated that Collins Aerospace had not delivered the security update software needed to restore all system functions, prompting the airport to request the cancellation of some flights on Monday
