The Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX) signed a memorandum of cooperation to promote the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area carbon market

The Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX) announced today that it has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Guangzhou Carbon Emission Trading Center Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Green Exchange, and Macau International Carbon Emission Exchange to jointly promote the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area carbon market and green financial ecosystem. According to the memorandum, the four exchanges will explore cooperation opportunities in the carbon market and green finance sectors, facilitate experience exchange and knowledge sharing, enhance the professional capabilities of relevant institutions and personnel in carbon market operations, green finance, and other areas, and promote the deepening development of the regional carbon market
